Demonstrations 2015

On Friday March 6, 2015, ARMA Houston was invited back for our third year in a row to the River Oaks Baptist School to demonstrate for their annual Renaissance festivities. Kyle Cook and Stacy Clifford represented the chapter to present demonstrations to four groups of students discussing the history of swordplay, debunking myths about the sword, and displaying the fundamentals of sword training with some help from the kids, after which they were treated to a lavish Renaissance banquet complete with a Globe Theater cake and William Shakespeare mousepads!

Just four days later on Tuesday, March 10th, Kyle and Stacy were at it again at the St. Francis Episcopal Day School to demonstrate for Mr. Schiller's history classes. They again did four demonstrations, starting with some historical background and mythbusting in the classroom and moving downstairs to the courtyard where they had plenty of room to demonstrate floryshing, countercut drills, and do some free-play. All in all, it was a very busy week for swordfighting!
